Key highlights of the 2018 U21 Health Sciences Group Annual Meeting hosted by the University of Melbourne

Thank you for attending the U21 Health Sciences Group Annual Meeting 2018 hosted by the University of Melbourne on the 10-14 September 2018.

The theme for the 2018 Annual Meeting was ‘Building Healthy Communities’ and focused on the key areas of Student Mental Health and Gender Based Violence with a global Indigenous Health and Minority group focus interwoven throughout the week.

The Doctoral Student Forum took place on Monday 10th September and focused on the theme of ‘Developing my career beyond the PhD’.

The Sustainable Development Goals Forum took place on Tuesday 11th September and focused on contemporary approaches to citizen and university engagement with the SDGs. The team also reported on outcomes from a range of U21 Health Sciences Group SDG initiatives. The morning was devoted to presentations from researchers and educators, while in the afternoon, workshops focused on designing educational resources and planning future SDG initiatives for health professional curricula.

The core meeting programme took place from Wednesday 12th - Friday 14th September.
